the stories that happened yesterday
It is not violence that best overcomes hate, nor vengence that most certainly heals injury...Have you heard of this phrase before?Yes,I read this phrase in the book Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte.I started reading this book since yesterday and was attracted to the book like glue(ok,I over-exaggerated a little). The book is about a girl called Jane Eyre, whose parents died when she was very young. She was then brought under the care of her rich maternal uncle(Mr Reed) who lived in Gateshead Hall with his wife and three children but he too died soon after she was brought in.Under the care of her Aunt Reed, she was consistently being bullied in the house, especially by her cousin John Reed. She was always being accused of doing wrong things and was sent to be locked in the red-room where her Uncle Reed died in.The only person who treated her fairly in the house was the family nurse,Bessie Lee.Soon after, her Aunt Reed sent Jane to school in Lowood Institute. In the school,Jane found a close friend whom she always consulted whenever she was puzzled over a problem. The thing that puzzled Jane most is why Helen Burns(her close friend)did not retaliate when being scolded/punished by a teacher.Later on in the book when Jane had grown to the age of 18 years, she became a governess in Thornfield Hall. There, she met the rich Mr Rochester(her employer)and the story continues about her love with him.I find the book pretty interesting as it contains alot of strong phrases and tells about the life of an orphan girl.By the way,if you still have not noticed, the book is an autobiography of Jane Eyre but it is written by an author(so it's still a story).Since it's the June holidays,I recommend you to try reading this book. Why not start now?I started reading this book at the beginning of this June holidays too!
