the stories that happened yesterday
Today was a hectic day for me...
Started out fine,I was extremely early because my brother had teachers' day concert duty.I didn't have any duty and it was raining heavily early in the morning,so I went up to the classroom.Turns out that the classroom door was still locked.Waited outside the class along the corridor as I didn't want to go downstairs.Met Syfie'ii(spelling?),Glenn and Jia Wee along the corridor.It was cold waiting along the corridor with the wind blowing and the rain splashing inwards.Glenn tried to yank one of the spoilt window panes out,turns out that it was beyond fixing.
Went into the classroom minutes later and saw the horrid mess of the class.Tables were everywhere,papers and worksheets were scattered all over the floor and there was trash at every corner of the class.It was as though I stepped into the wrong classroom.Glenn grabbed the broom and swept the floor,Syafie'ii borrowed a broom from the next class while i started clearing the teacher's table,arranging tables and chairs and picking up the papers on the floor.Spotted a huge cockroach crawling aroung Jia Hao's desk.'Brave' me did not scream but ran.Syaffie'ii kept asking me where the cockroach was and started hitting the ground with the broom.Jaron came in soon after but he just slacked on his chair(grrrr!).Few more people came in and I was in the midst of sweeping the floor when Ding Yang came into the class to ask Glenn and me to go to the hall for council duty.Thought I could enjoy the party but turns out that I have to offer my services,no choice.
Reported in the hall to offer my services and guess what's my job?I'm employed as one of the workers in the CC(Cleaning Crew also known as cleaners).I had to patrol the Sec 2 level to supervise the parties and the cleanliness of the level.Later Miss Jiang assigned me another job with Hai Mei to hand out the gifts of the teachers to the chairpersons from the various classes.Confusion and problems occured here and there right at the start of the concert,but at least it kept me busy.
Later patrolled the Sec 1 and 2 level and was shocked to find that the 4th floor was awfully littered.Bits and pieces of trash lied here and there and cakes were smashed on the floor.i don't think I want to elaborate on to spoil my appetite.The Sec 2 level was MUCH MUCH MUCH BETTER.Walked past my class to see what they were playing/doing.They were very quiet but they seem to have fun(how I wished I was in there...).Things were abit out of control back at the hall as the Sec 1 came down early.Tried to push the herd back to their level.Went with Hai Mei to inform the classes not to go to the hall first.Ran all over the place and was extremely out of breath.
Rushed back to the hall after that to hand out teachers' gifts to class chairpersons from the lower sec.More organised than the start.Many gifts of teachers were left over after the distribution.Miss Jiang then asked Hai Mei and me to distribute all the gifts to the teachers(mostly from the upper sec).Ran all over the school searching for the various teachers.Met Cleaning Crew at the upper sec block while distributing gifts.Felt guilty for not helping them with the patrol at the upper sec block.(I'm very sorry Cleaning Crew)It was RUN RUN and MORE RUN after that to the staff rooms.Met Ms Loh and she helped us with the identification of the teachers and their names.Rushed back to council room and finally had a break for my poor legs.
Had DnT after dismissal from council room.Dashed to the workshop and met Mr Lim.Taught me how to do the various steps for my workpieces.Galindo was also in the workshop.Helped me to buff my workpiece.(thank you Galindo,appreciated your help).Had a small,quick snack in between the cutting,filing and buffing.Accomplished quite alot alone(Min Hui went to visit her primary school).Nearing 2pm,spent most of my time sanding the workpieces(it sure was tedious).Elaine came into the workshop after her band and went home with Jasmine and Galindo.
Started raining while i was packing.Sad thing was I forgot to bring my umbrella.Had no choice but ran in the rain to the bus stop to take bus 28.Rained heavier as I proceeded on out of the school gate.Ran all the way to the traffic light and nearly slipped.Stood stupidly under the pouring rain while waiting for the stupid lights to turn green.Unfortunately,I was the unluckiest person of the year.I was trying to focus my eyes through the curtain of rain but also made matters worse by accidentally blinking the rain water into my eyes.Just then,one stupid double-deckered bus came along and splashed the hugh puddle infront of me.The next thing I knew,a tsunami was hovering over me and I'm all soaked.Talk about bad luck.This is worse than rotten luck!Met Jia Wee(with an umbrella!).Saw the state that I'm in and started laughing like I'm not there.How evil is that?!Went up the bus shivering like hell and Jia Wee started to joke about me turning into an ice cube(grrrrr and brrrrr!).Some people on the bus stared at a drenched clothe me with a weird look on their faces as if I was from outer space,couldn't blame them,seriously.
Bought lunch and reached home to find my brother with his swollen twisted ankle.(bad for you bro)Looks like I'm not the only one suffering from an unlucky day.Hope you'll get well soon bro!Now,as I'm sitting here to relate today's experience,I'm also sneezing away.Think I've caught the flu bug.Bad for me...
Before I go...HAPPY TEACHERS' DAY to all the teachers out there especially to the teachers who have or had taught me!
